Our next Guild Meeting is coming up in less than one week, on Tuesday, June 18th. Bring your badge, remember to check in at the screen by the back door for the Goeske Center, and come ready for a lovely evening — complete with pie!

Good morning Raincross Quilt Guild,
As I sit and contemplate the last 20+ years of being the leader of this fabulous group of quilters, I’m listening to the birds and looking at the beautiful flowers in my yard (thanks to my husband Marty) and the memories are are of all of the men and women who have touched my life with beauty and color! Quilters are my favorite part of being a quilter.
- It’s always a great day to quilt and sew!
- Take care of yourself, health, mind, body and soul.
- Give grace. We don’t know the burdens others carry with them.
- Greet each day as a new chapter in your life.
These 4 ideas are actually written just for me. You probably have your own thoughts on how to live your best life!
I have loved being the president and I will continue to love and help our guild. I am so thankful for all who have volunteered to be a part of the leadership for this next year. We all can find a place to belong at guild and encourage each other in quilting and growing together.
There are still a few positions on committees, standing chairs and auxiliary positions. Call Barbara Mathews and let her know how you want to help. Get connected!
The meeting on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 will be bittersweet for sure!
- We will have Show and Share to start off our meeting. So bring your favorite, your newest, your smallest, your largest, your favorite challenge quilt or even your worst quilt!
- We will have our usual business to announce.
- We will be saying thank you and farewell to those who have served the guild in the last few years.
- We will be celebrating the New Board Members with a special Installation Ceremony by Debbie Warner
- We will be enjoying a Pie Social together.
- Remember to bring your Name Tag, Zipper Pouches for Uganda Sewing Kits and final payment on your dues to be a member through July 1, 2025! The membership form is on our Website: raincrossquiltguild.com
Thanks to all,
Jeri

As Jeri mentioned above, we’ll start off with Show and Share, then proceed as outlined. We’ll have an Installation Ceremony for the new Board, and some good-byes to the old one. It will be a lively and lovely evening; we hope to see you there!
As an advance to the upcoming meeting and to start our farewells to our esteemed President Read, I went through all the photos we had from this and our archived website: from the Long Beach Quilt Show trip in 2010 (below), to the more recent images, pulling pictures of Jeri all the way. I created two slideshows. Jeri was everywhere, all the time, cheering us on, happy we made quilts and happy we were sharing them, talking us through these years with encouragement and a loving heart. Raincross Quilt Guild owes much to their membership, for stepping up to serve and to do charity work, but we also owe much more to Jeri, for her determination and persistence. We love you, Jeri: here’s to 24 years!!

Enjoy the slideshow below; the pictures are in random order. To pause, hit the pause sign at the right.
We’re also indebted to those who took all these pictures over many years: Cassandra Gray, for one, and we’re guessing Angie Nudge. If you recognize some of your photos, send a note to the Guild and we will update this acknowledgement section.

REMINDERS:
DON’T FORGET YOUR KITS AND SUPPLIES FOR THE UGANDA PROJECT! If you need a reminder of how to make the little sewing kit with zipper, please check *here* for our previous post.
If you have news for our Guild, or something of interest from the greater quilt world, the deadline for our next post is THURSDAY, June 20th, AT 9 A.M.
It’s always okay to send it early.
Send any items to our guild email: raincrossqg@gmail.com
If you miss the deadline (it happens), we’ll put it on the next post.
