Our next Guild Meeting is coming up in less than one week, on Tuesday, July 16th. Bring your badge, remember to check in at the screen by the back door for the Goeske Center, and come ready for a lovely evening. We visit and gather around 6 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Quilted Hugs and Kisses:
Thank you for many wonderful years of being involved with the Raincross Quilt Guild. Leading the guild as the president was both very challenging and very rewarding! Some of you have heard me say my favorite part of quilting are the quilters! You are all unique, talented and loved! Thank you for supporting me and for supporting the continuation of our Raincross Quilt Guild by passing and accepting the Bylaws and Standing rules for our guild. Please reach out and support our new board! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the engraved clapper, the deluxe engraved scissors and the many blue and white quilt blocks with notes of appreciation. Your words of appreciation mean so very much to me!! I look forward to continuing our quilting journey together!
I love this quilt from author and quilter and pattern designer Jennifer Chiaverini: “Anyone who works on a quilt, who devotes her time, energy, creativity, and passion to that art, learns to value the work of her hands. And as any quilter will tell you, a quilter’s quilting friends are some of the dearest, most generous, and most supportive people she knows.”
Love, Jeri

As with any big change, there are a few closets of stuff to clean out, and our Guild is no exception. This month we’ll be all working together to sort, to fill, to make, to visit with each other in our Helping Hands Sew In. Only there won’t be as much sewing as Helping. There are 44 boxes for us to go through, and I hope you remember that adage:

Trying to be prepared, it might be helpful if we had some scissors (paper or cloth), or if you have some packing tape (to reseal up the boxes). And a trash bag or two, if you have them. Maybe a Sharpie marker? And a willingness to help distribute what we finish? We’ll explain when you come.

Since we have no Hospitality Chair this month (we’re working on it), there will be no potluck on Tuesday. If you want to bring something to share, save that recipe for a later date. Again, please hold off on making something for everyone at Guild Night (at this time). Thanks for understanding.

We can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on! Bring all the quilts (and bags, and small makes, etc.) and show it off!

Message from Phyllis: We have over 30 tops completed in my garage. They don’t do any good there, they take up valuable garage space (just ask my husband), and Rose Marie informs me we have a list of Goeske Center Veterans waiting for quilts. So if you can, please help in getting these tops quilted, bound so we can distribute them. My husband is retiring and I know he wants his garage space back!!!! Thanks to all who have worked on our Quilts of Valor, they are so cherished by our Veterans. Next sewing at Easy Quilting Corner is August 7th. See the Community Projects Tab (above) for how to sign up.
Staffing Update
We are needing some more volunteers to help our Guild:
• Block of the Month
• Hospitality
• Facilities
If you want to know who is in charge of what, please see the tab above, Who We Are, and scroll down past the map to see the listing of names and positions.
If you have news for our Guild, or something of interest from the greater quilt world, send any items to our guild email: raincrossqg@gmail.com
If you miss the deadline (July 19, 2024), we’ll put it on the next notice. If you have any corrections or additions to this post, please send them to our email. Thank you! For more info, please refer to the minutes of this meeting, which will post approximately three weeks from now.
