The “bers” have arrived: Septem-ber, Octo-ber, Novem-ber, Decem-ber — and the autumn equinox occurs on Friday, September 22nd. Fall is on its way!
This coming Tuesday, September 19, 2023 will be our meeting. For those who like to come early the doors will be open at 6:00 p.m., but the meeting will begin at 6:30, ending at 8:00 p.m. Bring your name badge so we can get to know each other, and be sure to check in to the Janet Goeske center. If you don’t have your badge, you can check-in manually.

MONEY IS DUE! MONEY IS DUE! If you have signed up for the Raincross Quilt Guild 2023 Fall Retreat, “Sewing on the Sand.” on Oct. 26 – Oct. 29, 2022 (Thursday – Sunday) your registration money is due in full by this Tuesday Sept 19, 2023. At our meeting, please see Barbara Mathews to pay the rest of your retreat fees. It’s coming up soon!

Evie Rienstra was able to get us a Hoffman Fabrics tour for Wednesday, October 18, beginning at 9:30 and lasting about 90 minutes. Transportation is on your own, or with carpools (or have the opportunity to join a carpool that will leave from Goeske). Evie has already started taking sign-ups, and there are only a few slots left. For more info, see Evie at our meeting, or the flier in the Members Only section. {Note: how to log in is at the bottom of this earlier post; refer to an earlier email from Raincross Quilt Guild for the password; or at the meeting, see Dawn Meade or Elizabeth Eastmond (back tables).}

I learned so much about the North and South Pole by reading Charlotte Byrne’s pattern for this month. She presents for us a block that can be arranged many different ways; two of them are above. The pattern for the block is in our Block of the Month 2023 tab, above.

In a Guild’s life, one of the more significant things to happen — after the day is it created — is the adoption of the Bylaws to help govern it. Raincross is now at that point. We’re asking the Members to please take time to read the Bylaws and Standing Rules page, which explains the process. In addition, the Proposed Bylaws and Standing Rules documents are posted on the Members Only page.
The RQG Board and Bylaws Committee will be taking all your suggestions and questions in emails to our guild email: raincrossqg@gmail.com. The vote on these documents will be in our October meeting. Only those who are members may vote. If you need to update your membership and pay your dues, please see Dawn Meade, our Membership Chair. We are looking forward to this, and hope you are too!

Another Wonderful Volunteer! Patti Huddleston takes all our photos at our meetings. We appreciate having such great photos — thank you, Patti! If you are a volunteer in our Guild and we have missed you in our photo gallery, please contact Elizabeth Eastmond. More photos are on this post and this post.
DEADLINE FOR NEXT POST ON THE WEB IS THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22ND, AT 9 A.M. Send any items to our guild email: raincrossqg@gmail.com
If you miss the deadline (it happens), we’ll put it on the next post.
