Happy Birthday USA!!
WOW! 250 years, and we’re still going strong! (Although we’re certainly not perfect, but hopefully we can focus on the good points!)
I hope everyone is keeping up with the BOM – thanks to Susan Miller and Jeri Read for all the prep work for what looks to be a fabulous quilt!
Please stay safe over the 4th of July holiday – and take special care of your pets! I’ll be in Utah at a colonial event in a public park, where fireworks are not only legal, but encouraged!! It’s sounds like a war zone several nights in a row! CRAZY!!
Hope you’re all getting a chance to do some serious sewing. Especially when it’s hot – stay inside and take advantage of the AC and get sewing!
I’m sure I’ll run into some of you on the So Cal Quilters Run next month – lots of fun and, of course, FABRIC!
See you at the July meeting.
Love you all!
Barbara

We donate non-perishable food items to the Janet Goeske Senior Center Food Pantry at each monthly Guild meeting,
Remember, donation(s) will earn you an extra ticket to our door prize drawing.

Barbara Mathews presented a trunk show of her various collage projects. We are so lucky to have such a talented and prolific member of our guild willing to share her fabric art.

Wow! Thank you for the Response to the Survey. News on two new community projects:

Project Linus, JaNel & Michelle here to provide an overview, Kits and dog toys to get us started. Chair Nancy Roth is out of town but is ready to get going when she returns.
Project Linus is in their 30th year of providing blankets for children going through chemotherapy. They had 320 chapters where blankets are collected, labeled and distributed. Over 10 million blankets made by “blanketeers” have been given out.
Blankets can be quilted, knitted, tied or crocheted. Minimum size is 30×30.

Meals on wheels, we are happy to be working with Meals on Wheels to provide handmade placemats to their clients.
We have also been asked to work with the lunch program here at Goeske providing for their seniors as well.
Chair Jennifer Mahl didn’t wait to get started, she’s completed many placemats already, and we are working on getting simple kits ready to go.

And our old favorites.

Dog and Cat beds & crate covers, still looking for a chair. Shirley is still delivering to Mary S Roberts & County facility.
NORA, Luckily we have Dorothy Martinez as our chair. Any bags we deliver are used immediately. They are taking some small blankets for infants/toddlers on a trial basis.
