Bonjour les amis, (from Provence, France!)
I just checked the weather at home, and it’s almost the same as here! Will summer ever end?? I’m really missing my sewing machine – keep thinking of all those UFOs waiting for me on my cutting table. Hope you’re finding time to get some of yours done, or even start a new project- that’s always exciting!
Got to run my hand over a WHOLE table of Liberty of London fabrics in Paris a few days ago – amazing! The lack of fabric stores here is sad! I taught our group of ladies a sashiko-stitched heart sachet yesterday, and there are cats and chickens here so there’s a little bit of home!
Well, I’m off to breakfast (9 hours difference here); yogurt and croissants, and of course, my cup of Earl Grey!

- Goeske has implemented new rules for their facility.
- Everyone must check-in at the kiosk
- Scan your barcode and select Raincross Quilt Guild under activity. You may have to scroll through 2 or 3 pages of other activitiews to find us.
- If your phone number is not found, you must check-in as a guest and fill out a form from the Goeske front desk. It’s free.
- Goeske has several volunteer opportunities open.
- Everyone must check-in at the kiosk
- All members receive a membership booklet at the meeting from the check-in desk.
- Several Easy-Peasy Workshops are in the works for December and January.
- We are officially a 501(c)3!!!

Quilts of Valor – Chair, Barbara Filbin
- Barbara is presenting a QOV this Sunday in Hesperia to a veteran with health challenges.
- The date for our November award ceremony is 11/12/26 10am at Goeske Center. There is room for additional helpers. Joining Barbara F. will be Jennifer H, BJ, Linda K and Sue C.
- Thank you to Xio for piecing a special QOV for a deserving veteran, which will be awarded Nov 13.
SEW IT FORWARD

- Jennifer hosted Sew It Forward last Wednesday, a new program here at Goeske designed as a group focused on creating for others (via our charity projects).
- Normally Barbara F. leads
- All Guild members are encouraged to attend, as well as Goeske member and visitors.
- Our next meeting will be October 14 being the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 10am to 2pm.
Special News!
- Our guild has been asked to make a quilt to donate to the “Festival of Trees” that will be auctioned off at their Gala with proceeds going to the University of Riverside Medical Pediatrics.
- Jeri Read has agreed to lead the project and a beautiful holiday quilt pattern has been chosen. Please see Jeri to see what you can do to help.
At the August general meeting, it was announced that registrations are now open for non-members for both retreats.
